We at 4Web decided it was time to start blogging about all of the cool Joomla stuff we know, so here we are.
Bill and I have been building with Joomla since its release in September 2005. We've been building commercial sites with Joomla 1.5 since the RC1 release in July 2007.
Lots of people said we were totally crazy to start building with Joomla 1.5 so early on, but we got it to do everything we needed. Besides, when we started building at the end of July, 2007, we were told the final 1.5 version would be out in September 2007, not January 2008. Had we known that, we might have re-thought that decision.
But as it turns out, it worked out really well for Bill and me. We know Joomla 1.5 unusually well for those not directly involved with the Joomla project.
Bill and I have done some pretty unbelievable things in Joomla to date. Most of the stuff that excites me has to do with the front end. If you check out MassAcorn, this is the one that really gets me going. We used one template for all of the pages on this site. One template! Bill wrote some crafty PHP in the template to make it do its magic. What's more, the client updates are incredibly easy for the monthly updates.
We'll spell out how the magic happens going forward in our posts.
